Why black and white for this image? One might ask. Though the delicate colors of these perfect blooms were alluring, the curves and pointing lines interested me more, and the subtlety of tone without the distraction of color prompted me to simplify so that these lines and shapes would speak more clearly. I knew the powerful perfume of the hyacinth could only be suggested. Ah finally, the spring is upon us.
