Back to Black, Miami 2013

Back to Black, Miami 2013

The murals that I have been photographing for the past few months in the Wynwood arts district have, as I have already mentioned, been disappearing before my eyes. Imagine how shocked I felt when I bicycled by this building on NW 25th Street to see the immense and beautiful face was gone, painted over in black. I suspect there will be something new here for this fall’s Art Basel event. For the moment, however, now two days before I leave Miami, I feel a sense of loss and, maybe, a small sense of triumph that I was right to document these murals so compulsively. This fair lady, at least, is gone but not forgotten.

About Susan Reinberg

My digital diaries and altered states photographs are my way of sharing my personal vision. These images reflect my daily life and surroundings. I would like to range farther in my photographic journeys. But in the meantime, as any photographer knows, the images are at my doorstep.
